This conference is one of the events of the British Academy funded project “Private International Law and the Development of Integrated Markets – An inter-regional collaboration” led by Dr. Verónica Ruiz Abou-Nigm (University of Edinburgh) and María Blanca Noodt Taquela (University of Buenos Aires and Belgrano).
The conference brings together world renowned academics in the field, practitioners and research students from the UK, Europe and South America. It covers a number of contemporary and dynamic issues in international commercial arbitration and private international law.

ESIL conferences are organised annually since the last general meeting at Vienna. The next ESIL annual conference on ‘The Judicialization of International Law – A mixed blessing?’ will be held on 10-12 September 2015 at the University of Oslo. The Call for Agora Proposals and Papers and Call for Posters are open until 31 January 2015.

El miércoles 8 y el jueves 9 de octubre de esta semana tendré el honor de participar en las XV Jornadas de Derecho Constitucional: Internacionalización del Derecho Constitucional, de la Universidad Externado de Colombia. También me han honrado al invitarme a compartir una clase con los alumnos de la Maestría en Derecho Internacional de la Universidad de Los Andes ese mismo miércoles. Espero encontrarme con amigos y colegas, y conocer a algún lector del blog.
Premio al mejor Ensayo de Derechos Humanos 2015

La Academia de Derechos Humanos y Derecho Humanitario de la American University, Washington College of Law, convoca al Premio al Ensayo de Derecho Humanos 2015 sobre el tema «Justicia transicional, derechos humanos y derecho humanitario». La fecha límite para entregar el ensayo es el 1 de febrero de 2015.
La Academia concederá dos premios, uno para el mejor trabajo en español y otro para el mejor trabajo en inglés. En cada caso el premio consistirá en:
Una beca para el Programa de Estudios Avanzados en Derechos Humanos y Derecho Internacional Humanitario para el Diploma o el Certificado de Asistencia *
- Gastos de traslado a Washington D.C.
- Alojamiento en los dormitorios de la universidad
- Un estipendio para gastos de estadía
Los mejores artículos podrán ser publicados en el American University International Law Review.
Los ganadores serán anunciados el 1 de abril de 2015.
IV Seminario del Anuario Mexicano de Derecho Internacional

Del 9 al 12 de septiembre de 2014 se celebra el IV Seminario del Anuario Mexicano de Derecho Internacional «Tratados internacionales, Jurisprudencia y Doctrina. Análisis práctico desde el Derecho Internacional en Latinoamérica». El seminario está organizado de manera conjunta por el Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídicas de la UNAM y la Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro. Más información sobre el programa aquí.
Call for Papers: 2015 Barcelona Workshop on Global Governance: The Public and the Private in Global Governance

IBEI (Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals) and ESADEgeo (ESADE Business School’s Center for Global Economy and Geopolitics) are organizing the third edition of the Barcelona Workshop on Global Governance, an international workshop to discuss questions relating to global governance, on 15 & 16 January 2014. The workshop will focus on ‘The Public and the Private in Global Governance’. Confirmed keynote speakers include Andrew Hurrell (University of Oxford) and Jonas Tallberg (University of Stockholm) as well as Narcís Serra (former Spanish Minister of Defense and Deputy Prime Minister) and Javier Solana (former NATO Secretary General and EU High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy).
